How this calculator works
The calculator multiplies project length by width to find area, then applies the waste percentage. It divides the adjusted area by one sheet's coverage and rounds up to a whole sheet count. Ordered coverage and estimated cost are calculated from that rounded sheet quantity.
Example: a 24 ft by 16 ft area is 384 square feet. With 10% waste, the adjusted area is 422.4 square feet. Standard 4 ft by 8 ft sheets cover 32 square feet each, so the estimate rounds to 14 sheets and 532.00 at 38 per sheet.
