How this calculator works
The calculator converts backsplash length and height into square feet, subtracts openings, and adds waste. Tile count is based on the tile face area. Box count is rounded up from order area divided by box coverage.
Example: an 18 ft backsplash at 18 inches high is 27.0 square feet before openings. After 3.0 square feet of skipped area, the net area is 24.0 square feet. With 12% waste, the order area is 26.9 square feet, or 3 boxes at 10 square feet per box.
