How this calculator works
The calculator finds room perimeter from length and width, subtracts door openings, then applies waste allowance. Board count is rounded up from order length divided by stock board length. Corner cuts combine four inside room corners with the outside corner input.
Example: an 18 ft by 12 ft room has a 60 ft perimeter. After subtracting 6 ft of door openings, the net trim length is 54 ft. With 12% waste, order length is 60.5 ft, which rounds to 6 boards at 12 ft each.
