How this calculator works
The calculator estimates sealant volume from total joint length, width, depth, and bead shape factor. It converts cubic inches to fluid ounces, adds waste, and divides by tube size. Coverage per tube is estimated from tube volume divided by the joint cross-section.
Example: 250 feet of 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch triangular bead uses about 59.7 fluid ounces after 15% waste. With 10.1 ounce tubes, the estimate rounds to 6 tubes.
