How this calculator works
The calculator multiplies floor length by width to find project area. It then multiplies by the number of coats to calculate total coat area. Coating gallons are estimated by dividing total coat area by coverage per gallon and applying the waste allowance. Kit count is rounded up from gallons needed divided by kit size.
Example: a 24 ft by 20 ft garage floor is 480 square feet. With two coats, 250 square feet per gallon, and 10% waste, the project needs about 4.2 gallons. If each kit contains 2 gallons, the estimate rounds to 3 kits.
